Growth Partner Program
Custom
Performance-based partnership: Ali invests time upfront and is paid on measurable results. Limited partnerships available.
Free initial consultation · no lock-in. The initial 30-minute consultation is free, with no obligation.
Prices in Canadian dollars. Sales tax is added based on the client's province (as of October 2026, CRA rates): 5% GST in Alberta, BC, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Yukon, NWT and Nunavut; 13% HST in Ontario; 14% HST in Nova Scotia; 15% HST in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and PEI; 5% GST plus 9.975% QST in Quebec. Provincial sales tax (BC, Manitoba, Saskatchewan) only where it applies to the service. See full pricing on businessconsulting.ca/pricing.
The Growth Partner Program: custom, written, limited
There's no rate card, percentage or standard share, because the terms are written for each business. What stays the same is the structure:
- Performance-based: Ali's pay is tied to the outcome.
- Time upfront: the early diagnostic and planning time goes in before the arrangement pays him.
- Measurable results: the measure, the baseline and the record are defined in advance.
- Custom written terms: every partnership has its own agreement.
- Limited partnerships: only a few run at any time.
Costs outside Ali's time, such as advertising budgets paid to platforms or third-party software, are covered in the written terms. Don't assume they're included or excluded; ask, and get the answer in writing. The program is also listed on the group's BusinessConsulting.ca pricing page.
Fixed-fee consulting ranges
Three published options for owners who prefer a known cost.
| Option | Price (CAD) | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Hourly consulting | $175–$350 per hour | Strategy sessions and expert advice by the hour |
| Project | $3,500–$25,000 per project | A fixed piece of work, for example a growth plan, an assessment or a launch, paid in milestones |
| Monthly retainer | $2,500–$12,000 per month | Ongoing advisory and execution support |
Each option is explained on the fixed-fee consulting page. Before any paid work begins, you receive the scope and price in writing.
Tax, currency and the free first conversation
All prices are in Canadian dollars, before tax. Ontario clients add 13% HST. Sales tax rules can depend on where a service is supplied, so Ali will confirm the tax that applies to an Ontario engagement on your written quote.
The initial 30-minute consultation is free, with no obligation. There's no lock-in on any option.
What drives the cost
Scope, complexity and how much measurement already exists. For fixed-fee work, the main drivers are:
- How many problems you want solved. One focused question costs less than a full growth plan.
- The state of your records. Clean sales and enquiry data shortens every engagement.
- The number of locations or markets. A business covering the GTA and Ottawa needs more work than one serving a single town.
- How much execution is included. Advice alone costs less than advice plus doing the work.
For a partnership, the same factors shape how much upfront time Ali invests, which is part of why the terms are custom.
A worked comparison
Here's a simple way to compare the two models with your own numbers. The figures below are illustrative only.
Suppose a retainer at $4,000 a month is quoted for a plan expected to add about six new customers a month, each worth $1,500 in gross profit. That's roughly $9,000 a month in added gross profit if the plan works, and a $4,000 cost whether it works or not.
Under a performance arrangement, the cost would follow what's actually measured, in the way the written terms describe. A weak month costs you less in lost fees; a strong month means sharing more of the gain. The real question is which risk you'd rather carry. The guide on when performance pay fits goes through this in detail.
How to choose
Pick the model that matches your records, your appetite for risk and your timing.
- Choose fixed-fee if you want a predictable cost, need help quickly or don't yet track results.
- Ask about a partnership if you're established, can measure results and want an adviser who shares the risk.
- Start with a project if you want a partnership later but need measurement set up first.

Frequently asked questions
How much does the Growth Partner Program cost?
There's no fixed price. Payment depends on measurable results, and how it's calculated is written into custom terms for each partnership after your numbers have been reviewed.
Is the first conversation really free?
Yes. The initial 30-minute consultation is free, with no obligation, whether you're asking about a partnership or a fixed-fee option.
Do prices include HST?
No. Prices are in Canadian dollars before tax. Ontario clients add 13% HST, and Ali will show it on the written quote.
Is there a lock-in?
No lock-in. Projects have a defined scope, retainers run on written terms including how to end them, and every partnership agreement includes an exit.
Could a partnership cost more than a fixed fee?
Yes, if results are strong. That's the trade-off: less risk at the start in exchange for paying on outcomes. Model both before choosing.
